When I saw Jan's message about "mYsterious hot-key combo ",
I felt like making these comments:
JR> Unfortunately yes. I had assigned that combo to an action which was
JR> supposed to assign a msg to a certain color group & then move it to
JR> another folder. The msg in question disappeared seemingly off the
JR> face of the earth until I did an account wide search & found it.
JR> Unfortunately TB! doesn't seem to provide property-like info when it
JR> finds something so I don't know where it ended up.
In the search window's results pane, add the folder column. This column
will tell you where the message is. Right clicking any of the column
headers will open the column customization tool.
JR> Which brings me to another question: What's the practical difference
JR> if you use or don't use the option to "check the selected message
JR> against this rule"?
If you enable the option, a string match will be attempted on the
selected message/s when you use the hotkey. If the defined string
matches any message, then the filter actions will be applied. However,
if the option is disabled, the filter actions will be applied to any
message/s selected when you use the hot-key. No string match will be
attempted.
