Hello Hilary & others on TBUDL following this thread,

Saturday, January 13, 2001, you asked:

HF> Is it possible to import messages and address book entries from
HF> Calypso into The Bat? I'm assuming the answer yes, so how can I do
HF> that?

I am a Calypso refugee myself. Remember that Calypso encrypts it
mailboxes, so first you have to export from it. However, since my
Calypso blew up forever, someone else (a fellow TBUFLer) had to
export it for me, after I sent the file and supplied the password.
Of course, the mailbox was set to download automatically, and the
friend wound up downloading and forwarding some current mail
inadvertently. (This also happened w/ the idiots at Calypso's Tech
Support, who should have known better). As I recall, only one export
format was available at that time (he sent me screen shots of
Calypso's export menus as gifs).

After receiving the exported file, I imported it as a unix box w/o
any problem. This is done from the folder you want the messages to
reside in. I believe (this happened in 1999) that the received time
changed to the time the file was imported, but the creation time
remained true to the original. (That was done w/ v. 1.35).

HF> Calypso isn't listed on the "Import Mailboxes" menu.

It's listed as "mailbox from hell" (joke).
