Under Account/ Properties / Network make sure that there is no tick at
[ ] Use Account Specific.

Then go to Options / Network & Admin and choose the radio button for
Dial-Up and set up your DUN connection there.

Then tick the three options, especially [ ] Use existing (if any).

This way, TB will check automtically every xxx minutes for each
account as you have set it up under each Account / Options, but oly if
you are connected. If you are not connected, you can still just check
your mail by hitting alt-F2 (Check Mail for All).
