You didn't have to. WADR Januk and I have both described how it works.
You  may  not  have  clicked  on  that column *recently* but it is the
column  you  have  as the currently selected one. TB may highlight the
whole  line  in  the  message list, but there is a conceptual "current
column" which is kept in view.

TB  conforms  to  that  standard  ... and another standard - when your
cursor  is  off screen to the right, it scrolls the screen to the left
to  make  sure that it is visible. That is a standard I would not like
to see TB abandon.
