I use the same (with a "hacked" DLL to show it); there seems no

That would be a good idea - as long as it's transport is secure, so
nobody can tamper with the fingerprint.
I just did some checking myself:
1. I deleted a word in your mail. The signature verification came out
OK with plugin, still bad with Tray.
2. Inadvertently in the first step I signed the message myself.
Verification by plugin gave out valid signature (implicit trust), Tray
showed bad sig.
Whatever is on, it begins to look funny. I hope we can find out what,
Krister and Nick.
