FYI, the memo *is* available from the folder window - and has been for
a couple of versions. It is a little hard to operate, though. If you
have accessed the folder view by double-clicking a message in the main
message pane, the memo will be "directed" at that message the first
time you call it - no matter which message in the folder view you have
highlighted when you call it. 

In fact, it will stay directed at that message *every time* you call
it. But this doesn't mean that it cannot be used from the folder view.
You just need to "break the spell", so to speak - which is done by
highlighting any message in the folder view. This only breaks the
spell for *that particular memo"-session, though. You have to do the
same for the next message, you want to add a memo to - *or* let the
memo stay open for the entire "folder view"-session. 

This is certainly not an ideal situation, since the folder view seems
- by design - to be the true "reading room" in TB. But...the memo
*can* be used when in folder view.
