Hello Dave,
Okay, I've figured out how to add the OpenNew action on Netscape running
under Win95b. Unfortunately it doesn't help at all with the
shift-double-click idiom (within TB) failing to open a new NS window. Here
are the steps I took to get there.
1. Open an explorer window, go to view>options>filetypes
2. Find in the list of registered file types, find "Netscape Hypertext
Document" and select it
3. Click the "Edit" button
4. Click the "New..." button
5. Name the action "OpenNew"
6. Specify the NS exe on your system for "application used to perform
action:"
7. tick "use DDE"
8. DDE message should say "[open("%1", 0x0)]" without the outermost quotes
9. Application should say "NSShell" without the quotes.
10. Topic should say "WWW_OpenURL" without the quotes.
11. done
Having done this, I now have an "OpenNew" option on the context menu
(right-click menu) for html documents in windows exploerer, and it works
like you'd expect, but my original problem still exists inside TB.
Shift-double-click on a hypertext url does not open a new browser window.
I guess I'd like to ask if there are any NS users out there for whom the
shift-double-click idiom DOES work? Will you step forward to help figure out
what the problem is? Thanks.
