Are you running a PC firewall per chance? Possibly ZoneAlarm? This
particular firewall is a nightmare for most who use Win2k with service
pack 1 installed. Your symptoms sound identical to the ones I had with
ZoneAlarm installed. The only cure was to uninstall ZoneAlarm.
