If you don't want the split window, you can go to View (in the Editor
Window Toolbar) and uncheck "Original Text".

What I did was add the following Macro to my reply template:

%WRAPPED="%QUOTES"

which will correct the problem with poorly wrapped quoted text, although I
don't use the split window. What I did was set my Mouse wheel button for
F4, so now I simply highlight the text I want to quote, hit my wheel
button and the quoted text is placed in my reply, nicely wrapped.
