I recently stumbled upon this- but instead of invoking another
email client, nothing would happen at all. I solved this by
opening up my internet settings (IE setings) -- from there, I
selected another client, or no client what-so-ever (cannot
remember which it was) and hit apply. Hit ok. Closed the
settings. Tried it out, and it worked the way it would be
expected to after doing such a thing-- then I went back into the
settings again, set it to TB!, apply, close . . . and, presto, I
am mailing like crazy with TB. Might be worth a try -- Opera
responds to direction so much easier!

 RT> Hello Batsmen & Batswomen,

RT> For various reasons, Eudora is set as my default e-mailer although I haven't
RT> used it for over a year.

RT> Who needs it if you have the Bat!

RT> However, I see that in IE5's setup one can define the e-mailer of preference,
RT> especially as it offers The Bat! as one of its choices.

RT> So, being sensible, I select The Bat!

RT> Not only does IE5 invoke Eudora, but adds insult to injury by using the wrong
RT> version!

RT> Opera 5, my browser of choice, reacts properly to the full command line,
RT> including the % at the end.

RT> Is there any way to force IE5 to invoke The Bat! instead of whatever else it
RT> can find?
