You don't have to go into the editor preferences for that. The charset may
be changed directly via the editor window. If you look at the bottom of
the message editor window, in the status bar area you see the charset that
you're using stated. Right click over that area and the list of charsets
will appear for you to choose from.

If there's a pattern to which mail you tend to have the change of font
occuring, you could use the macro

    %CHARSET=�Charset ID� - set the current message character set to the
    character set that corresponds to the Charset ID. All possible
    character sets with their IDs are defined in the �Options | XLAT
    Tables� dialogue.
