Well, this is my first foray into the bat mailing list. I am
rather a novice at use of the bat. However, I have been using a
text processing system for several years called frogbit. It is a
small specialised script language for automatic text editing, it
is run via external programs passing it arguments. I know there
are several full scale script languages, but the frogbit runtime
is small (200kb) and works great (for my needs anyway...) if all
you want is to run a small program to find a tag and edit a text
file then return it, frogbit is great. The bat! interface part of
all this is out of my league, so I leave it to others. I am using
a version I downloaded 2-3 years ago, I don't know if it still
being developed, but i can send you the executables if you
    need.... (mail me off-list)
