Hello ,
I know this could be a hot topic, but I would have liked to see a
slim version of The Bat! including only the basic email
functionality.
What could be removed:
Security stuff, PGP S/MIME
The network functionality
The mail dispatcher
Macros
Submission forms
Quick templates
Message list colors
This is just a list made up by me and I do not even know to what
extent this would actually slim The Bat! down.
I think The Bat! is the perfect mail client, but I would like it to
be THE minimalist solution for the average user. When I started out
using the bat it was at least 500k smaller than it is now. A "Lite"
version could be a solution, at least for me! :)
I know that The Bat! is among the smallest full featured clients
around, but I still would like to see it shrink in the future rather
than grow.
All the "esoteric" functionality could still be made available in a
"Pro" version for those that need it.
This is not a complaint, it is just a wish for the perfect fast and
small e-mail client! :)
