Well this might 'cause all you have stated... The Bat is updating
files every time you get new message so it might be the reason for
data corruption...

Probably those messages got corrupted and The Bat deleted them so they
do destroy more of database...

You might think so... Almost every time I get in trouble with low
drive space I got my registry waked... Its just an accident waiting to
get you... Especially if you don't have fixed swap file...
But those are only my experiences with W95 OSR2... Might not happen in
later versions of Winblows...
