First thing first, SMTP=Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, this kind
of server only receives mail from you and then delivers to the
recipient you point to in the "To:" field.
OTOH, POP and IMAP servers are the servers to which The Bat!
"talks" to in order to get your messages. The way TB! and all
other mail software identifies new mail on those servers are
flags. When a new message arrives, the server saves it and flags
it as "New". When you tell TB! or other mailer to leave messages
on the server, those messages will be marked as "Seen"/"Read" and will
not be retrieved, shown nor deleted unless you specify so on the next
session.
