Oh well spoke too soon. :(

The connection centre connected to a totally different account to any
of the one's I've had recent problems with.

The log window shows:-

receiving mail messages
connected to POP3 server

and was just sitting there. The account wasn't being checked at later
times although other accounts were checked okay.I left it for a
considerable time

The good news is that when I clicked on cancel task it did just that
and a manual 'get new mail' ran okay,and there was not in fact any
mail on the account waiting for collection.

I hope nobody misunderstands me. I'm not complaining about the cc just
reporting what I'm seeing. I like this new version but the cc is
causing me some problems.

I just wonder now that if the pop3 server fails in some way that the check
is not timed out correctly.

With versions prior to 1.52 TheBat would do just that with a 'Ping' :)
