I have one for adding addresses to my TBUDL group.

Source: Inbox
Destination Folder: Inbox
Filtering Strings: <none defined>
Rule is - Both "active" and "manual only" enabled
Actions: Add to address book
         Item: Sender (from)
         Add to groups: tbudl

         Play a sound ....(added for reassurance)

Options: Execute this action set of this rule by pressing the Hot-Key
                 <define hotkey>
         Check the selected message against this rule - disabled.

That setup works just fine, no matter in which filter rule group you
create the filter.
