Did you change your screen resolution in and around the ticker problems.
If you change your screen resolution when the ticker is at the edge of the
screen, this could lead to loss of the ticker since it's now off the
screen and there's no means to retrieve it, except by going into the
registry and tinkering with the ticker position values.
