This is actually the fastest way, short of a reinstall and hoping
that the client in question asks if you wish to make it the default
mailer. If TB!'s default mailto: status is broken then TB! will not
usually ask upon a reinstall because it thinks the association is
already made and functioning.

The only alternative would be to edit the registry. HKey Classes
Root to reflect the following:

- ------

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto]
"URL:MailTo Protocol"
"EditFlags"=dword:00000002
"URL Protocol"=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\DefaultIcon]
"L:\\Program Files\\SecureBat\\thebat.exe,0"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\command]
"\"L:\\Program Files\\SecureBat\\thebat.exe\" %1"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\DDEexec]
"%1"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\DDEexec\Application]
"thebat"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\shell\open\DDEexec\Topic]
"tbDDE"

- -----------

Make sure the values are as outlined above.

If you're not sure of what you're doing, then leave it alone and ask
someone with your OS to export their mailto: settings for you so
that you can easily import it.
