Two that I use are Star Trek's Worf saying "Incoming message,
Captain", and Addams Family "mail's in". These aren't particularly
subtle, but I work from home and when I'm in the lounge room watching
television, I can hear if the computer (in the study) has received a
mail that requires a rapid response.
