Here's another reason against HTML mail:
As the German InternetWorld reports certain companies have developed
software to control if and who opens their HTML mail. Especially
marketing and advertising firms are highly interested in monitoring
their newsletter distribution better.
For our German reading members - and those who can identify software
and sotware companies in the text - here is part of the report:
