Steve,

In The Bat!, if one person is in an address book and, say, is a member
of three groups, then changing the email address once will suffice to
change it in all the groups.  The actual entry for one person only
needs to be made once, and then in the address card show which groups
the person should be part of.  That way, any one change is reflected
in all the group views of the contact.

Do I understand you to say that Outlook automatically updates email
addresses?  What would happen if your Outlook address book had the
proper work email address for someone, who then replied to you from a
home email address?
