Sorry to reply to my own post, but I've found the required information and I would rather post than have someone searching through RFCs etc. for info about LDAP. According to the RFC, LDAP uses TCP port 389 (0x0185). I've opened up both that and port 11371 (0x2C6B) for outwards-initiated traffic and all is now working.
