That's two different things to be done.

Checking for free space is easy: go to the harddrive windows is
installed on and check the free space in your file explorer.
This should be a sufficient value. I'd assume everything below 100
MByte as 'to small' (others may disagree, that's my humble opinion).

For 'Kill dupes' there is not as much free space on harddisk necessary
as for compressing the folder as lesser data will be copied
temporarily.
