My computer has a dial-up connection using Windows' Dial-Up Networking. The name of the default connection used to 'X' (not really, but good enough for this explanation), so that on my desktop icon, in Internet Options (Win98SE), and in My Computer/Dial-Up Networking, the name of the primary connection was 'X.' I changed the name, because the name of the ISP changed. So now, on my desktop icon, in Internet Options (Win98SE), and in My Computer/Dial-Up Networking, the name of the default connection is 'Y.'
If I am not already connected to the 'net when a program requires Internet access, no program has difficulty establishing the connection by dialing out, except TB! For some reason, TB! returns an error message saying, "Could not dial the entry 'X.' Please check dial-up networking settings and try again." Well, 'X' is not the entry it should be trying to dial; 'Y' is the entry it should be trying to dial. My dial-up networking settings all reflect 'Y,' not 'X,' and no other program has this difficulty. Is there a registry setting that requires changing? What's causing this odd behavior?
