Hi: I would like to connect to my university's secure POP3 server via SSL but have no clue how to create my own certificate, how to import the server's certificate and what the deal with the "Intermediate Root CA" and "Trusted Root CA" directories is. I am aware that it is possible to purchase a private certificate from companies like VeriSign, but have also heard that one can create his own certificate using OpenSSL. Maybe somebody like Mr. Palmreuther or Mr. Pearlstone who seem to be very knowledgable about stuff like that could answer these, I suppose, basic questions and provide some specific instructions. Maybe they could even post an FAQ sheet?
