It happens to me as a "dialogue block" only when my cable's mail server isn't properly handling mail. I usually cancel out the dialogue. The next timed connection often goes through. I tend to think of it as one of those mysterious dialogue blocks (similar to MS's OE messages) that broadly describe a possible problem, in this case, my own mail server.
