"Inbox - Known" is a repository for messages from senders who are
included in one of your address books, *if* you enable the appropriate
filter in Account/Sorting Office/Filters.

I'll let someone else answer the AV question.  I don't use the feature
myself.  I use NOD 32's POP3 scanner, independently of TB!
