I, too, have been using The Bat for several years. Some programs have a more modern interface (Eudora, for example) but are nowhere near as flexible as The Bat. I understand, though, how a new user could be left dazed by the wealth of opportunities this program offers. I have found no other e-mail program on this planet that even comes close to offering The Bat's abilities. The downside is what new users experience -- they are simply overwhelmed. Reading the documentation would help, but not as much as it should because the documentation is far too sparse. The on-line FAQ helps and so does this discussion list. I spent last weekend using Eudora exclusively for a report I'm working on and continuously found things that I could not do. On Monday, when I returned to The Bat, everything felt right again.
