Wow.. first of all, thanks to everyone for the tremendous amount of
discussion and feedback my little post generated... 28 replies in 4 hours.
Yikes! :)

OK first of all, everyone's picking on my "50 paragraphs" remark.. it was
just an arbitrary example to make a point, people!! :) It could be 3
paragraphs, the point is, I have to individually place the cursor in each
and every paragraph manually and hit Alt-L to wrap it properly, when the
program should be able to do it all for me... that's what computers are
for! :) (FYI, I am a software developer myself)

There was one suggestion about marking (which I assume means
selecting/highlighting the text?) ALL the paragraphs and then hitting
Alt-L? Doesn't work. It mashes everything together into one paragraph, and
doesn't handle the quoted text line prefixing properly.

Let me give you an example.. here is a message I sent to myself:
[LEGEND: -------- indicates start of quoted block, ======== indicates end]

----------

This is my message to test The Bat's line wrapping features. I am composing this
message using Hotmail's rich text editor, which will send it as an HTML message, with
no line breaks whatsoever. The purpose of this email is to test how The Bat handles
long lines, especially when replying, and using this message as quoted text.

The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs. All work and no play makes Brian a
dull boy. The time has come, the walrus said, to talk of many things. Ask not what
your mail client can do for you, ask what you can do for your mail client. Is this
long enough? Yes, I think so.

When I hit reply, I get this in the reply window:

----------

> This is my message to test The Bat's line wrapping features. I am composing this
>message using Hotmail's rich text editor, which will send it as an HTML message, with

>so.

Wrapped to 200 (or ~196) chars. Not very useful. If I select both
paragraphs, and then hit Alt-L, I get this awful mess:

----------

> This is my message to test The Bat's line wrapping features. I am
composing this message using Hotmail's rich text editor, which will send it
as an HTML message, with no line breaks whatsoever. > The purpose of this

We've gone from bad to worse. It has merged both paragraphs, and is now
ignoring the quote prefixes. Not helpful. The only way (I've found) to
get it to wrap properly, is to Alt-L in EACH INDIVIDUAL PARAGRAPH, which
gets you this:

----------

> This is my message to test The Bat's line wrapping features. I am
> composing this message using Hotmail's rich text editor, which will send

PERFECT! Why can't The Bat do this for me with one command or an automatic
setting, instead of making me manually do it on a per paragraph basis???

Sorry this ended up so long, but I obviously didn't demonstrate my case
clearly enough the first time around.
