Inbox in both. If the source and destination folders match they should
be ignored.

Ricardo's suggestion of using an Outgoing message filter is good. If
you can't get it to work as a Replied filter, just drag it down to the
Outgoing filter set and change the source / destination folder to
Outbox / Sent messages.

I have a slight problem with that one since it impedes the flow of any
real outbound filters that move sent messages to relevant folders.

No - that's additional conditions to refine how, when and where the
filter should be applied.
