I just changed Mozilla 1.0 to use TB! for default e-mail client. Mozilla
handles the HTML as it should. Apparently an Opera bug as you insisted.

Using Mozilla
<a href=mailto:"Paddy%20L"%20&lt;[EMAIL PROTECTED]&gt;>Paddy L</a>
produces in TB!
"Paddy L" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

One last question, does the addressing conform to standards or should I
remove the quotes?

Thank you for your patient help.
