Hello Thomas,
TF> I think to wait for a virus to come in from a particular TF> Envelope-From, and to assume that your ISP has implemented a TF> filter if it doesn't, is a vague test to say the least. ;-) Not vague, just chancy. (It involves waiting for an iffy, uncontrolled scenario). So I took your advice, with the following results TF> Send a message to yourself, with a trigger string like "this should TF> trigger it" in the subject line, and create a Selective Download TF> filter that looks for this string in kludges. That was already done. TF> Set the filter to manual first, look in the Mail Despatcher TF> whether the message is in your POP mailbox, And of course, it was. I deleted it manually from the server without downloading it. TF> disconnect, unset 'manual' in the filter, and reconnect. Is the TF> message still there? That's not what I did - I resent the message. IAC, with an active filter set the message DID show up on the mail dispatcher BUT - the mail dispatcher had already configured the message to be deleted without being downloaded, so all I had to do was hit F2. End of experiment (now we know how the Kill filters work).
