Okay - here's a long shot. Use the TB backup to backup everything.
Lock stock and two smokings.

Now zip up the whole folder for good measure.

Now wipe down the entire base, folders, address book, templates and
everything.

Once everything is back down to zero, try the upgrade. It may or may
not work.

If it does work, use the Restore to bring back all the data into the
working environment.

If not, restore into the old environment and we'll put out rhinking
caps back on again.
