The last message I just downloaded this evening is an OT asking for
help with IE. Perhaps putting the TBOT in the footer would help.

I stayed away from the discussions about news server, instead of
mailing list, user-to-user support, and I know that TBUDL isn't as
active as many large list, but I do think that RITLabs ought to think
about setting up a news server or finding a news server for support.
Something with a Web interface would be nice. There are more than
enough messages to justify news service and it could cover the
regular, beta and even off-topic all together.

Over the years, I've recommended TB to a lot of people and along with
it, TBUDL. The TBUDL is essential for new users, since the Help
is still not wonderful. But, the feedback I'm getting is that many
people are overwhelmed by the volume of the messages. (The situation is
compounded by the fact that the archives are difficult to use
efficiently.) So, many people give up before they discover the beauty
of TB.

Putting up a private news server, as some on the list have suggested,
is more than I think should be expected of users. It's time RITLabs
did something more to support their customers. A news server with a
Web interface is a small thing. If they're going to add a news
reader, it might also be an incentive for people to pay the extra
price for it. :)

If you feel it worthwhile, please pass along my thoughts to RITLabs.
