I have no interest there; I usually disable all auto-formatting promptly. My desire was to compose and send richtext messages, so that richtext-aware recipients can receive messages with text coloring and formatting without the risk of HTML active content. After all, text formatting is not only used to produce fancy 50pt font/pink background messages, but simply is very useful in discussions like ours (or, more to the point, the ones I have with my colleagues at work ;-) To the vast majority of email users, competent or not, plain text mailing looks exactly like what it is: plain.
