I sent a 1.8mb file to two friends only last week.

Here's a thought. "The Bat!" got its name because the client/server
dialogs run "like a bat out of hell". I've not found anything that
talks to a server faster (or even as fast as) TB. Perhaps the server
is simply unable to keep up with the speed and the socket undergoes a
server side reset. That would explain why it happens and why it only
happens with TB.
