  Where we part company is that anyone who is
  $KNOWN$ that *doesn't* belong in a subject, list
  or personal folder ends up in $KNOWN$ or Inbox,
  all else goes to trash.

  Depends on what you mean by a lot. Yesterday it
  was 44 pieces, that's about average & *all* of
  it goes to trash. I can't remember the last time
  that a piece of junk ended up in $KNOWN$ or
  Inbox. The only time I spend is a cursory look @
  the one trash folder as a double check before
  purging. There may be a more efficient way but
  the system works for me. However, I'm always
  open to better ideas. :-)
