Let's hope so. I'm always up for something
  better. To answer your question[s]:

Only in 2 cases do I use 'continue filtering'.

The first thing on my filter list is a filter
that identifies my own outgoing msgs that come
back to me, i.e. from a list server. These are
filtered to a specific color so I ignore them
visually, then TB! "continues processing" & they
are dropped into their appropriate group folder.

Following that are all my specific filters for
Mail lists, personal, etc. These filters
identify those msgs & drop them in their
appropriate folders, i.e. TBUDL --> TB! folder,
  etc.

Following that is my $KNOWN$ filter which
identifies everything in my AB [I keep only one
w a lot of groups as I find that more convenient
than multiple ABs]. This is 2nd time I use
"continue processing". So, for example, if I get
a msg from someone who does not have a folder,
it passes thru the first 2 levels & gets picked
up by $KNOWN$ where it stays. $KNOWN$, Inbox, Hi
Priority & personal msgs are sent to the ticker
  for my attention.

Following that are my spam filters which
identify most junk & send them to the common
trash basket. If a piece of spam ends up in my
Inbox I shoot that off to SPAM COP manually via
a filter I constructed. Otherwise I found myself
spending too much time sending off all my daily
  spam msgs to SPAM COP.

I identify these spam filters in 2 ways:

First - Those msgs that aren't addressed to me
[remember all list msgs & known msgs have been
  filtered already].

Second - by gen'l subject matter. Ex: gambling,
sex, travel, earn, etc. Then I use alternative
words that apply to those subjects as they came
in to me before I had all these filters. Pretty
soon I have a small dictionary of typical words
for each subject. All of them go to the common
  trash can.

In options, under the Message List, I set
Display time for today's msgs for t [time].
Current week as set ddd,t [day & time]. Anything
beyond that is "d mmm yy, t" day, month, yr,
time. In this way its very easy to identify
today's spam & review it -- or at worst,
  yeterday & today's spam list.

Last but not least, I have one other filter
which just sits in the list for people I don't
want to talk to which auto sends a reply that
tells that I don't want to talk to them, that I
haven't read their email & that it has been
deleted -- all of which is true. Currently it is
  only one name in it.

And finally there is the anti-virus plug in that
hopefully filters *all* virii to the quarantine
folder where I delete it, immediately followed
by a compress & purge folder.

GS> From what I understand of TB's filters
GS> they really are all in combination to a degree
GS> because precedent is set from the highest to
GS> lowest on the list of filters created.

Yes, this is correct & that's what I've tried to
  do.

  HTH
