So create a new wav file that is just a one second burst of silence
and choose that as the specific sound for that message. You have to
override the account default with *something* to suppress the default
sound. Leaving the filter with no sound set will cause the default
sound to play.

Actually that won't work. What you really need to do is to remove
the account default sound (play no sound), put your soundless
filters at the top of the sorting office, add an intermediate filter
after them that doesn't move messages (ie moves them from inbox to
inbox), looks for '@' in the kludges, plays the default sound and
has the option set to continue processing with other filters.
