I *think* I did what you said: the filter for the messages I want
to shut up is now at the top of the sorting office ( this filter
also forwards mail with the word 'digest' in the header to another
account.)

The other filters just move incoming mail into a particular box.

The 'intermediate' filter is set up as you suggested (I think).

Effect: when I now send a test mail to the main account, it gets
forwarded as if it had *digest* in the header.

Where did I go wrong?
