Allie- In most cases, you're right. Reply-to-list is what I want, and the macro I set up handles this properly. The bug in the list software is that the TO line is set to go directly back to the sender instead of to the list. That's why I needed the folder macro in the first place.
In the case where I want to reply to the list AND send an email copy directly to the sender, though, I want to put the original sender's email address into the CC line all by itself. That's where the first %CC line comes in. If I'm not in digest mode there's no problem.
