This email is being forwarded by a friend: ===8<==============Original message text=============== Pete, I just wanted to pop you a note and let you know some of the issues I have been having in trying to evaluate the latest version of The Bat . Regular E-Mail Operations As far as regular email operations and sending/receiving new email . no problems at all . Importing My Old Outlook XP Environment 1) Importing contacts is a problem in the following areas: a. Cannot import contacts natively from Outlook b. When contacts are first exported to CSV and then imported a whole bunch of garbage is being inserted into the address book .. I have approximately 260 contacts in my Outlook Contacts but for some reason, over 500 entries are put into The Bat address book after an import and that is after carefully mapping each field one by one . c. Some entries that are imported have pieces of the address but not the entire address . some have only the city but no phone number for instance . or only an e-mail address but no cell number . 2) Importing E-Mail messages is a problem from PST natively a. Larger folders are causing a GPF upon loading saying that "thebat.exe" has failed . with a bunch of hex addresses and such b. I end up having to do the folders one by one in some cases due to size and this is very tedious As mentioned before contacts are likely more important to me than the e-mails themselves ( although those are important to me as well ) so I need to find a way to get the contacts imported in smoothly in a way that I can trust is accurate with no loss of information or data. Thanks for the help!
