  I'm not sure it reboots every time you update the VIRUS definitions,
maybe only when it updates the program files themselves. I KNOW I've
updates the definitions plenty of times without rebooting, and I also
know I have updated the program itself a few times. I have AVG set to
update every 3 days, but I've done it manually also and NOT have it
reboot.
