so with screen= 1024 X 768 and ticker at 1706 X 770 the ticker was off
the screen left and right above the top. I didn't know if it was an exact
pixel comparison or not.

right now I keep it on the bottom of the screen, right above the
Litestep tray, taking up 1/2 of the width, right-justified.
