Depends on your needs, but the backup function is rather
straightforward:
 Tools -> Backup

Select the entries you want to transfer in OE and export them to
vCard, one at a time, afterwards import them into TB.

"what is ldif" (that was including the quotation marks)

BTW Your signature delimiter doesn't seem to work. It ought to consist
of dash, dash, space, enter. Probably yours misses the space.
