Try to log on as user1, with at the password prompt, just no password.
If that doesn't help, try to create a new user, with the address and
settings of user1. After you've done that close TB. Copy the file
account.cfg from the directory of your new account to the directory of
your user1 account.

I've got one account with multiple addresses, though I collect them
from a pop3 box and not IMAP. I use one folder for each address. You
can set the address with the folder-properties (identity tab), that
suffices for me. With filters I direct everything to the correct
folders. (Both in- and outgoing mail.)
