~> Is it possible to Bounce E-Mail in "TheBat!" kind of like the way ~> MailWasher does ? Depends on how you define "Bounce". Mostly it is defined as a 550 response from the SMTP server. ,----- [ Here is a bounce I forced to show what it would look like ] | 550 5.7.1 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed [1.2.3.4] `----- If that is how you are defining "Bounce" then no, TB can't because it is a response from the SMTP Server software, and TB is a MUA (client). If you want to send some sort of message back to the spammer saying that "this is not a valid address, please stop", I suggest thinking that one over. A reply to a spammer can verify that your address is one that is not only valid, but active also! ====================================================================== ,----- [People on this list are much happier if you use a "Cut Mark"] | This is a "special sequence that starts on a new line and consists of | two dashes (minus signs) and a space followed by another new line". | | <NewLine><dash><dash><space><NewLine> | | This "cut mark" is recognized by many eMail programs and is used as a | cut off point for signatures. That way, when someone replies to one of | your messages, your signature (anything below the cut mark) is | removed. Likewise, when you reply to a message from someone that | includes cut mark, The Bat! will remove anything below the cut mark | from the text you quote. `----- [see FAQ @ <www.silverstones.com/thebat/samples.html#newmess>] ~> -- ~> Best Regards, ~> ~John, ~> [EMAIL PROTECTED] You may also want to not put your eMail address in the message as it will show up in the Archives. EMail address harvesting software loves that type of thing. -- Tim Musson Flying with The Bat! eMail v1.62 Christmas Edition Windows 2000 5.0.2195 (Service Pack 2) Do or Do not, There is no try - Master Yoda ________________________________________________ Current version is 1.62 | "Using TBUDL" information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
