Hi!

Help! S.O.S.! I used to have Win98 on my computer. Last week I
bought an 80GB harddrive which my old BIOS couldn't handle. During
the course of my battle with the BIOS all three of my HDs got done
in, their FATs being mysteriously overwritten and changed. Now that
was all my fault. I tried several data restoration/rescues softwares,
which under WinME (my current OS) - theoretically - found my Bat!
directory with all the message bases - seemingly - intact. I also
had two independent backups on two of my harddrives, which I also
"resurrected". However, my Bat!, when attempting to import either
the message base or the .msb file freezes from time to time. It's
quite random: sometimes it manages to import my massages, sometimes
not. The same with the backups: they were password protected but
after supplying the password TB hangs.

I am aware that in spite of their apparent soundness my files could
have been damaged when the FAT got corrupted. But I also wonder if
You out there know about some bug in TB or some secret, mysterious
method that I could try to regain my mails. I would be happy to send
anyone some of the .tbk or .msb or .tbb files... Is there any way I
can test any of these files to make sure if they are damaged or not?

Please help, if you can, I need my correspondence back!

Thanks a lot!

Martina Moravcova
