I think he's referring to composing plain text in a font of his
choice that's something other than one of the basic, ugly, fixed
width fonts.
Nigel,
Unfortunately, the current editor supports only fixed width fonts.
The next release will have an alternative editor that supports the
use of variable width fonts. It's currently being beta tested so hang
on for a while.
